Osteopathic Manual Practitioner

Sam Gibbs is an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner, Certified Athletic Therapist, and Registered Massage Therapist. He holds a Master’s of Science in Functional Medicine & Human Nutrition as well as a Masters of Applied Neuroscience from Kings College London. Sam maintains special interests in functional neurology, immunology and endocrinology.

Sam has served as a past board executive with the Ontario Association of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners, Canadian Federation of Osteopaths, Canadian Sports Massage Therapy Association, and Ontario Athletic Therapists Association, and is currently a content expert for the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association. His keen interest in education led to the founding of the National Basketball Sports Medicine Scholarship with Sheridan College in 2005, and more recently, the Canada Basketball academic scholarship with York University.

Sam has worked with many athletes and sports teams, both professional and elite amateur, and has been named to multiple national medical teams for major international competitions in leadership roles including: Olympic Games, Goodwill Games, World University Games, and Pan Am Games. He served as medical staff with the Toronto Raptors, and has been a Head Therapist and Integrated Support Team (IST) Lead for the Canadian Men’s National Basketball Program for over 20 years. He currently maintains the IST Lead position for National Trampoline and has a consultant with National bobsleigh and boxing organizations.
